A Quiet Beginning

Welcome to Letters from the Woodland

This is a space I’ve created to pause, reflect, and share the gentle unfolding of Fern and Fable: my world of storybooks and nature-rooted play. Ideal for gentle parenting styles, nature loving children, wild hearts and free spirits.

I’m writing this first post from a secluded, picture-perfect (at least to me) patch of wilderness, with birdsong above and grass beneath my feet. It felt right to begin here, in the stillness, in the shade of trees, where so many of my stories find their roots.

Walking these paths with my little dog, Flora, is where I first had this crazy idea that maybe… just maybe… I could write a book. I wanted to share my love for the beauty and quiet magic of the world around us and the soft wisdom you sometimes find when you're still long enough to notice.

Fern and Fable may have begun as a quiet idea, and it may remain just that, but I carry a longing to create stories and handmade things that feel calm, curious, and deeply connected to the natural world. Like all of us, it’s still growing. Still becoming.

And this blog will be where I share that process:

  • The creative sparks and the stumbles

  • The making of books and play sets

  • Behind-the-scenes thoughts, sketches, and soft surprises

Some letters will be short. Some will be tangled with thoughts or joyful wins or things I’m still figuring out.

From the forest floor of this little dream,

with love from

Fern and Fable.
